A second opinion differs from a referral because the referral is suggested and coordinated by the first-opinion vet, whereas the second opinion is requested and coordinated by the owner.
Sometimes it is good to get a second opinion, regardless of whether one feels a diagnosis has been made correctly or not. A disease may have been correctly diagnosed, but a certain drug to treat that disease might be available at one clinic and not at another.
If you wish to bring your pet to Sunset Vet for a second opinion, be sure to bring with you the full medical history from your original vet, including the results of any diagnostic tests performed (blood test results, Xray films etc).Get in touch for an appointment
