Kuta Clinic

  • Drh. Novita Castalia DVM
    Head Veterinarian
    Drh. Novita Castalia

    Drh Novita studied veterinary medicine at Airlangga University in Surabaya, East Java. After graduating in 2009 she worked at Vitapet Animal Clinic in Jakarta, and in June 2012 she moved to Bali to join Sunset Vet Kuta. She has since completed postgraduate courses in clinical pathology, ultrasonography, gastroenterology and acupuncture. Drh Novita is the Head Veterinarian at Sunset Vet Kuta and is known for her wonderful bedside manner.

  • Drh. Wirsa Nurahyani DVM
    Senior Veterinarian
    Drh. Wirsa Nurahyani

    Drh. Wirsa holds a doctorate in veterinary science from Udayana University (2009). She started her career at the Bali Animal Welfare Association as part of their rabies vaccination team and subsequently as one of their clinic vets. She did further clinical training at Vetwest clinic in Perth, Australia, and gained further surgical experience at Lanta Animal Welfare in Thailand before joining Sunset Vet in early 2012. Drh. Wirsa has special interests in nutrition and dentistry. She is a huge animal lover and gets particularly excited whenever there is a dog or cat giving birth in the clinic!

  • Drh. Saka Wiryana DVM
    Senior Veterinarian
    Drh. Saka Wiryana

    Drh. Saka qualified as a vet from Udayana University in 2010 and his first job was with Bali Animal Welfare Association as one of their Ubud clinic vets. In 2013 Drh. Saka started work at Sunset Vet, initially as a night shift vet dealing with emergencies that come in from midnight to 8am although he is often found on day shifts these days! Drh Saka has a keen interest in orthopedic surgery particularly fracture repair.

  • Drh. Jane Shane DVM
    Senior Veterinarian
     Drh. Jane Shane

    Drh Jane studied veterinary medicine at Gadjah Mada University in Jogjakarta, graduating in 2009. Her first job was at Calico Vet Clinic in Jogjakarta where she worked for 3 years before joining BAWA as a member of their spay-neuter team. In 2015 Drh Jane joined the Sunset Vet team and now works at the main Kuta clinic. Her clinical interests are soft tissue surgery and oncology. She has also recently completed a course in abdominal ultrasonography.

  • Drh. Maya Tarigan DVM
    Veterinarian
    Drh. Maya Tarigan

    Drh. Maya graduated as a vet from Udayana University in 2010 when the rabies epidemic was taking off, and joined the BAWA rabies vaccination team for the next year. Thereafter she worked at Renon Vet Care and Semer Vet Care in Kerobokan until 2014 before moving to Jakarta. In 2016 she moved back to Bali and joined Sunset Vet. Drh. Maya has special interests in dermatology, clinical nutrition and internal medicine.

  • Drh. Steven Leo DVM

    Drh. Steven Leo

    Drh. Steven graduated from Airlangga University, Surabaya in 2014 with the prestigious award of best vet student. During his studies he was also a keen volunteer for Surabaya Animal Care, helping street dogs and cats and also freelancing at Octopussy Vet Clinic. At Airlangga University he was an assistant lecturer in histology for 3 years so is highly competent with a microscope. Drh Steven has special interests in clinical pathology, the fusion of Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and acupuncture.

  • Drh. Wilson Lois DVM

    Drh. Wilson Lois

    Drh Wilson graduated from Udayana University's veterinary faculty in March 2015, and after an internship joined the Sunset Vet team at our Kuta branch. Drh Wilson's main clinical interests are emergency medicine and soft tissue surgery, but he is most loved by clients for his bedside manner and compassionate approach to his patients. Outside of the clinic he is a keen futsal player and coach.

  • Drh. Veny Lestari DVM
    Veterinarian
    Drh. Veny Lestari

    Drh Veny graduated from Airlangga University, Surabaya in 2015 and first joined Sunset Vet as an intern, subsequently staying on and joining the vet team full time. Drh Veny's main clinical interests are cardiology, imaging (both radiography and ultrasonography) as well as clinical pathology. Drh Veny is based at Sunset Vet Kuta and is also a keen badminton player.

  • Drh. Talita Milani DVM

    Drh. Talita Milani

    Drh Talita graduated from Bogor Agricultural University, West Java in December 2016. Although she did her thesis on dolphins and subsequently worked at an orangutan conservation centre in Borneo, her love of dogs and cats drew her back to small animal veterinary practice. She joined the graduate internship scheme at Sunset Vet Kuta in 2016 and is now a full time junior veterinarian with clinical interests in internal medicine and imaging.

  • Drh. Ingrid Maspaitella DVM

    Drh. Ingrid Maspaitella

    Drh Ingrid graduated from Udayana University in August 2016 but had already accumulated useful clinical experience having volunteered since 2013 as a medical officer at Bali Rumah Singgah Satwa (Bali RuSS), a shelter for homeless dogs and cats. Drh Ingrid joined the graduate internship program at Sunset Vet Kuta in November 2016 and joined the vet team full time in January 2017. Her main clinical interests are soft tissue and orthopedic surgery and outside the clinic she is a keen basketball player.

  • Drh. Nadhor Nainggolan DVM
    Junior Veterinarian
     Drh. Nadhor Nainggolan

    Drh. Nadhor qualified as a vet from Airlangga University in Surabaya in 2015 and finished his Masters degree in 2017. Upon graduation he joined the internship scheme at Sunset Vet Kuta and went on to join the vet team full time. His main clinical interests are soft tissue surgery and reproductive medicine, but he also has a special interest in exotic species and in particular reptiles. Outside the clinic he is a sports enthusiast, winning Silver in the 2015 Indonesian Fencing Championships.

     Drh. Irene Soteriani

    Drh Irene graduated Cum Laude from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in 2017. During her studies she also worked as a registration officer for an animal medicine company, but realised that her true calling was small animal practice. In September 2017 she joined the Sunset Vet Kuta team, and hopes one day to become a specialist in veterinary dermatology. Outside the clinic her passions include flower arranging, choir conducting and jazz music.

  • Drh. Ari Dwipayanti DVM

    Drh. Ari Dwipayanti

    Drh. Ari stems from the Karangasem region of Bali and after graduating as a vet from Udayana University in 2013 she started her career as a veterinary officer for CV. Inquatex, a Primate Breeding Centre. During this time she also worked with a variety of miniature animals (miniature horses, donkeys & cattle) as well as with alpacas, sheep and goats. In September 2017 she joined the Sunset Vet Kuta team where her main clinical interests are Emergency and Critical Care, Soft Tissue Surgery and Equine Medicine.

  • Drh. Ratih Komala DVM

    Drh. Ratih Komala

    Drh Ratih graduated as a vet from Udayana University in 2017, and joined Sunset Vet Ubud as an intern. She later went on to join Sunset Vet Kuta permanently as a junior veterinarian. Drh Ratih's clinical interests are dermatology and soft tissue surgery, she has also recently completed courses in haematology and feline internal medicine.

    Drh. Perina Theresia

    Drh. Perina graduated as a vet from Airlangga University, Surabaya in 2018. During her studies she was assistant lecturer of veterinary pathology and her research focused on the clinical pathology of wound healing. This inspired an interest in clinical dermatology and working as a small animal practitioner. In 2018 she joined the internship program at Sunset Vet Ubud, later moving to Sunset Vet Kuta to join the vet team permanently. Outside the clinic she is a classical pianist.

  • Drh. Wulan Setyaningrum DVM
    Head Veterinarian
    Drh. Wulan Setyaningrum

    Drh Wulan graduated as a vet from Udayana University in 2008 and went on to work at Anom Clinic in Sanur and Vitapet Clinic in Jakarta, where she developed special interests in surgery and opthalmology. In 2013 she moved to Bali and joined Sunset Vet's Kuta branch. In 2014 she completed an advanced Orthopedic Surgery course in Kuala Lumpur and in 2017 a Neurosurgery course at the same institution. Drh Wulan is the Head Veterinarian at Sunset Vet Ubud.

  • Drh. Raysa Merliana DVM

    Drh. Raysa Merliana

    Drh Raysa received her Bachelor in veterinary medicine from Udayana University in 2013 and her Masters in 2014. In 2015 she joined the Sunset Vet team as a junior veterinarian working at the Ubud branch. She enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery but has a special interest in clinical pathology and particularly cytology, histopathology and dermatology.

     Drh. Estry Damanik

    Drh. Estry (known to all as 'Drh. Echy') studied veterinary medicine at Udayana University, graduating in May 2014. Her first job was in Jakarta, working at Laras Satwa Clinic in Tangerang. A year later she followed her heart and moved back to Bali, joining Sunset Vet initially in our Kuta branch before moving to our Ubud clinic's vet team. Drh. Echy has special interests in imaging, clinical pathology and acupuncture.

    Drh. Yeni Purbowati

    Drh. Yeni studied veterinary medicine at Airlangga University in Surabaya, graduating in February 2016. Whilst interning at Sunset Vet Kuta she impressed with her passion for learning and natural surgical skills, and choosing to advance her career in Bali she joined the Sunset Vet Ubud team. Drh. Yeni has since completed courses in abdominal and cardiac ultrasound but is most interested in surgery, both soft tissue and orthopedics.

     Drh. Agung Aryaningsih

    Drh Agung ('Jung') graduated cum lauda from Udayana University in August 2016 with the presigious award of 'The Best Veterinary Student'. Her love of animal rescue led to her volunteering since 2013 in the medical team of Bali Rumah Singgah Satwa (Bali RuSS), a shelter for stray dogs and cats. In 2016 she joined our graduate internship scheme at Sunset Vet Kuta, later joining our vet team full time at Sunset Vet Ubud. She loves everything about small animals but is especially passionate about soft tissue surgery, radiology and cytology.
