Sunset Vet Supports Chewy’s Adoption Days

Sunset Vet are proud Sponsors of Chewy’s Puppy Adoption Days, held in conjunction with Bali Adoption and Rehabilitation Centre (BARC) on the second Saturday of each month outside Chewy’s Pet Shop, Seminyak. This initiative has been a great success so far, with 11 Bali Puppies adopted out to loving families on the last Adoption Day alone. Each puppy is socialized by BARC and thoroughly checked by one of the Sunset Vet doctors before being adopted out, so pet owners are less likely to encounter disease problems than if they buy a puppy from a pet shop or market. Rabies now reported in 24 provinces

Rabies has spread to 24 of Indonesia's 33 provinces, according to a top Health Ministry official. Only Bangka Belitung, Central Java, East Java, Jakarta and Yogyakarta were free of the disease, Health Ministry vector-borne disease control director Rita Kusriastuti said in Yogyakarta recently at the annual meeting of the Asian Rabies Expert Bureau (AREB). The provinces with the highest incidence of rabies were Bali, East Nusa Tenggara, North Sumatra and North Sulawesi. Read more

Bali Man Dies From Monkey Attack

A 69-year-old resident of Nongan village in Karangasem, Bali, died on Monday after a group of monkeys thought to have rabies attacked him, the head of the local health agency said. Read more
